Support The Talking Farm in 2014

In 2014, thanks to you, The Talking Farm could become the largest urban farm in northern Cook County. This immense accomplishment is confirmation that we have come a long way in a short time. With the help of a grant from United® Eco-Skies, we installed necessary fencing, added infrastructure, hosted over 30 groups for work days, built 15 raised beds and several hoop houses, and created The Talking FarmHand initiative, a low-cost certification program for urban agriculture that graduated its first student in 2013.
In spite of these accomplishments, we remain critically low on funds necessary to sustain the farm even at a baseline level. Pending zoning approvals, we are in need of startup costs for an efficient irrigation system and washing stations to maintain health standards for produce grown on the farm—because we truly believe in our mission, and in our community’s desire for fresh, organic, locally-grown produce.

If you believe in improving our local food system, it’s time to act. Please give today as generously as you can. Every donation you make helps keep The Talking Farm alive. If you prefer, send a check made payable to The Talking Farm to the address below. Or, click here to donate online easily and securely. And know that we are grateful for every bit of your support.

On behalf of everyone at The Talking Farm, we thank you deeply for your continuing loyalty.
