The Talking Farm’s Seedling Sales Begin May 9th

It’s planting time again! This year choose local and organically grown seedlings for your garden. The Talking Farm will offer many different varieties of home-grown seedlings for sale at the Howard Street Farm, starting with cold weather hardy varieties then moving on to warm weather varieties as spring progresses.

Available seedlings: Tomatoes! Also, Toscano and Red Russian kale, red and green cabbage, romaine lettuce, onions, parsley, thyme, raspberry bushes, bok choi, Swiss chard, and peas and much more!

Seedlings start at $3 each; all proceeds support The Talking Farm. Each weekend will also be volunteer work days – come help us on the Farm as well.

Want to know more about the soil in your garden? Dr. Bala Chaudhary, soil scientist from Loyola University, will talk soil in, “What Lies Beneath: is My Soil Healthy?” Saturday, May 16, at 10:30 am on the Howard Street Farm during the seedling sale. This seminar is FREE and open to the public.
