Carrie Jackson is a Chicago native who is deeply connected to her community. She has worked in long term care, public relations, and marketing, and is currently a freelance journalist with a focus on holistic health, environmental sustainability, and community engagement. Carrie has extensive experience in fundraising and event planning, and has served as the VP of Outreach for the Alzheimer’s Association Junior Board and the Chair of Recruitment for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. She has traveled to 26 countries, performed improv comedy, voyaged on a backpacking trip in the Rocky Mountains, completed a triathlon, bartended in England, and is published in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Living With Alzheimer’s and Other Dementias. In her spare time, Carrie enjoys biking, yoga, nature, listening to live music, volunteering, craft beer, laughing with friends, shopping at thrift stores, and performing random acts of kindness. She joined the board in 2019.
