Lyle started as The Talking Farm’s inaugural Executive Director in June 2020. He comes from a long career in nonprofit leadership and management in local food, horticulture, food insecurity, and agriculture. Most recently, he served for eight years as the Executive Director of Care for Real, the community food pantry of Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood. During that time, he led the efforts to annually distribute over 1.2 million nutritious meals and 305,000 articles of clothing to North Side residents in need and doubled the organization’s operating budget. Prior to that, Lyle served for three years as the Green City Market’s inaugural Executive Director, establishing it as Chicago’s first year-round farmer’s market and the first in the country to offer EBT options. As TTF’s first executive director, Lyle plans to grow the organization’s strategic vision with fundraising, community outreach, and educational programming.
