Since our inception, the Evanston and Skokie communities have shown amazing enthusiasm for the project and a desire to get involved. This is likely due to the concrete nature of the project -- people seeing that they can create something that would enhance their community. The press seems to like the idea too: The Talking Farm has garnered considerable media attention, including several articles in the Evanston papers and the Chicago Tribune, and even several local television interviews on Channel 6, Chicago's CAN-TV, and WTTW. This support helps spread the message of the importance of promoting a local food economy and how Evanston and Skokie can benefit by joining the thousands of other communities that make urban agriculture a normal part of its local food system.
