Wendy Aeschlimann

President

After 18 years of practicing law for a large law firm, Wendy now leads her own real estate development company with property interests in Chicago and Michigan. She splits her time between Chicago and Fennville, Michigan, a small, rural town known for its local hard cider, cheesemakers, orchards, and locally-grown fruit and vegetables. She joined The Talking Farm’s board in 2012 when the Howard Street Farm was a dream but not yet a reality. She has served as president of the organization since 2015, growing it from a small grassroots organization to one that now serves the surrounding area with over 20,000 pounds of organic produce and 12 educational programs focused on urban agriculture and sustainability. Prior to joining The Talking Farm’s board, she voluntarily compiled a local guide of farms participating in Community Supported Agriculture (CSAs) and moderated a panel about CSAs at the Good Food Festival. She also volunteered for Working In The Schools (WITS), a one-on-one mentoring and tutoring program in the Chicago Public Schools, and the Lawyers in the Classroom program for Constitutional Rights Foundation-Chicago.
