Want your family to learn to garden with age-appropriate instruction?  Join us at The Talking Farm for an immersive, season-long gardening crash course that will transform your gardening skills and confidence!

Details

Participants will meet at the Howard Street Farm, located at 3669 Howard Street, twice a month on Tuesday evenings from 5:30-6:30 pm for gardening classes. Each participant will be given their own 8 x 4 garden plot at TTF that they will plant, maintain, and harvest from throughout the program. Twice a month, TTF staff will teach participants all the basics needed to maintain their own garden independently. Topics will include: bed prep, garden planning, direct seeding vs transplanting, weeding, maintenance, succession planting, pest control, harvesting, seed saving, winterizing, and more! No experience necessary to enroll, beginners and experienced gardeners alike are encouraged to enroll. Families are also welcome to apply (note: there must be at least one person 18 years or older in each family group, limit one garden bed per family). On days when classes are not in session, you may still access your plot.

Space is limited to 8 slots, first come, first served. The deadline to enroll is March 20th or until spaces are full.

**Cost $275 per family/plot (one plot per family).

-includes garden plot, communal resources, water and water infrastructure, and instruction, guidance, and support by TTF staff.
